| Job Description: |
Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Services, you will be working as part of a team responsible for delivery of environmental programs. The role???s primary responsibility will be overseeing the City???s curbside collection program, recycling depots and streetscape waste containers, including contract management, responding to public enquiries, and developing public education campaigns. You will also assist with a variety of other environmental initiatives involving water resources, air quality, and contaminated sites. |

| Duties: |
You will be required to supervise the work of contractors and department employees, carry out assessments for program improvements, prepare procurement documents, and assist in budgeting and long term planning for environmental programs. |
|
| Educational Requirements: |
A graduate of an environmental or civil engineering program, or engineering technology program.
Must be in possession of a valid Driver???s Licence. |
|
| Skill Requirements: |
??? A minimum of five years of progress experience working in the environmental field relating to solid waste, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
??? Experience managing projects and service contracts, and conducting research and public outreach is required.
??? Experience in local government is an asset.
??? Strong communication and interpersonal skills: you need the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly, and converse with a wide range of people including technical consultants, elected officials, senior staff, and the general public.
??? Excellent writing skills, with the ability to write in a clear and concise manner and to prepare well-written technical and administrative reports.
