||The City of Surrey’s Recreation Division aims to build healthy communities where all people are active and engaged. Our facilities are focused on ensuring visitors can enjoy our programs and services in a safe and comfortable environment. As part of that commitment, we’re looking for a full-time Building Service Worker to support the City’s Recreation Facilities. The hours of work are a non-standard work week, including evenings and weekends.
||Responsible for a variety of cleaning tasks and minor repairs in and around the City’s Recreation facilities.
Inspect facilities for potential issues and address the issues by reporting or correcting them.
Provide building maintenance.
Ensure the security of the facility and its staff and visitors.
Maintain swimming pool systems and water balance.
Perform basic facility upkeep and repairs including painting, small drywall repairs and equipment maintenance.
||Completion of Grade 12.
Possess a Building Service Worker (BSW) Certificate.
Possess a Pool Operators 1 certificate.
Basic computer knowledge.
||Have at least one year experience cleaning and doing minor repairs in a large public facility.
Able to perform simple to moderately complex manual labour work in both inside and outside conditions.
Energetic, have familiarity and comfort with working alone and follow safety protocol.
Strong attention to detail as well as good written communication and documentation skills.
Able to work independently and self-motivated.
Aptitude for basic repairs and maintenance.
