The City of Abbotsford???s Procurement Division is looking for a self-motivated and experienced Parts Person to join their dynamic team. Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Procurement, you will be involved in the sourcing of parts, materials and services required to maintain the City???s operational needs. Your assistance will be instrumental in ensuring the right materials and services are available to staff in order to maintain or complete repairs on a wide variety of municipal equipment and infrastructure.

As the successful candidate you will have considerable knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance as you exercise independence of judgement and action in the method of obtaining parts, materials or services upon receiving verbal or written requests. You will research and source parts, materials and services with limited information and advise the appropriate staff member or end user on substitution or modification of parts, materials or services when identical replacements are not available. You will be skilled in the use of current computer applications, including materials planning, word processing, spreadsheets, scanning documents, and other applications associated with the work performed. Your ability to work efficiently in a team environment or individually while providing an exceptional customer service experience will make you an asset to the team.

To be considered for this position you must have:

??? Completion of Grade 12 or equivalency (GED) supplemented by completion of:
??? Parts Person 3 ITA Inter-Provincial Trade Certificate of Qualification, or
??? CPIM ??? APICS - Certified in Production and Inventory Management, or
??? SMT ??? SCMA Supply Management Training Diploma
??? Minimum 2 years??? related experience
??? Valid Forklift Operator Certification
??? Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver???s Licence

This position is unionized, C.U.P.E Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $26.51 per hour to $31.20 per hour plus a comprehensive, competitive benefits package.
