Job Description: Reporting to the Park Facility Operations Manager, the Parks Equipment Operator 3 is an equipment operation position within the Athletic Fields functional group.
Duties: Duties include, but limited to the proficient operation of the following equipment:
??? 5-ton truck with attached 6-meter trailer
??? 7-gang reel tractor mower
??? Farm type tractor with front end loader
??? Small Excavator
??? Various tractor attachments including:
o 72??? disc grass seeder
o Deep tine soil aerator
o PTO driven fertilizer spreader
o Articulating snow plow
o Laser guided box scrapper

Additional duties may include calibration of spreading equipment, minor repair and adjustment of equipment attachments. The operator is expected to keep a diary of work completed in a notebook. Other typical duties may include: detailed equipment pre-check, equipment lubrication, reel to bed knife adjustments and other miscellaneous adjustments, as well as simple trouble shooting of equipment malfunction.

The successful candidate will also have effective communication skills, exercise independence of judgement and initiative while performing the duties of the role. This position requires communication with park patrons in a friendly and courteous manner, as well as having the ability to communicate effectively with other Athletic Fields team members on field renovation best practices. The role requires operating and driving equipment and manual work in all weather and traffic conditions.
Educational Requirements: ??? Completion of grade 12.
Skill Requirements: ??? Have three years previous driving and operating experience on a wide variety of machines used by Parks Division.
??? Have three years of Parks maintenance or construction experience.
??? Have 2 courses related to Parks Maintenance and Construction.
??? Have a valid Class 3 B.C. Driver???s License with
