||Provide leadership and oversee the programs and operations of the Finance Department, including the Accounting Services, Treasury, Budgeting, Property Taxation, Purchasing, and Payroll divisions.
||Provide advice and guidance to Council and senior management to assist them in meeting their strategic objectives through appropriate financial management. You will also be responsible for fulfilling the statutory duties of the Financial Officer under the Community Charter and the Local Government Act.
||A post-secondary degree from an accredited university with a major in Accounting or a related field. Registration as a Chartered Professional Accountant in British Columbia is required.
||Progressive, innovative, high-quality results-oriented with keen critical thinking ability and analytical and problem solving skills.
Possess an open, team-oriented leadership style which promotes continuous improvements in organizational efficiency. You understand local government objectives and issues, you are proactive and forward thinking, and you have excellent interpersonal skills.
A distinguished financial management track record and the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including Council, are essential for this position, as is having a high degree of integrity due to exposure to highly confidential and/or politically sensitive information.
