The City of Abbotsford???s Engineering & Regional Utilities Department is seeking a self-motivated professional to join their dynamic team as an Engineering Clerk. This position in full time on a temporary basis until return of incumbent, approximately 6 months.

In this exciting role you will be providing office support services through customer service and clerical work. Your knowledge of the applicable rules, regulations, policies and practices which govern departmental activities will guide you when responding to the public and staff inquiries, typing correspondence and reports; creating ad maintaining a variety of records, forms, tables, spreadsheets and manuals and processing various departmental applications and documents within established guidelines.

Your strong communication and relationship building skills will be essential as you provide information and assistance to the public and maintain effective relationships with customers and co-workers. Your ability to work independently, multi-task and take initiative will guide your success in this position.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

???Grade 12 plus post-secondary courses in bookkeeping and computer software courses (word processing and spreadsheet applications).
???A minimum of two (2) years clerical and customer service experience including processing complaints and explaining procedures and guidelines in regard to the processing of applications, documents and bylaws related to an engineering environment.

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $23.62 to $27.77 plus a percentage in lieu of vacation, statutory holiday and health benefits.
