The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for an regular full-time Information Officer - RCMP to join our team of professionals in the Protective Services - RMCP Division; Front Counter.

You will be responsible in this unionized position for providing a variety of information to the public including receiving and investigating a range of complaints. The successful candidate will process private investigation and security employment applications, Police Information Checks and Visa/Waiver applications. In addition to a range of other duties and tasks, the chosen candidate will take fingerprints and photographs, assist members of other police agencies and Detachments, give evidence in Court if necessary and keep abreast of current developing police matters.

Your education will include completion of grade 12, and sound related experience including familiarity with provincial and federal statutes, municipal bylaws and police procedures and regulations; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of federal and provincial statutes, acts and regulations, municipal bylaws and divisional policies, and procedures and regulations are necessary. The top candidates will have sound knowledge of the various agencies and services available to assist the public in the community as well as the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines. Our ideal candidates will be comfortable in preparing reports, maintaining records, interviewing applicants and complainants and will be able to operate various police and standard office systems including but not limited to CPIC, CAD, OSR, PRIME, JUSTIN and IntelliScreen. Communication skills are critical in this position, and thus strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to recall and recount facts and circumstances accurately, are required.

RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status is required. (Note - Not required as part of the application process, however will be required upon consideration for employment).

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $27.45 - $32.25 per hour (5 steps; 2019 rates) plus benefits. The hours of work are non-standard hours and/or non-standard work weeks.
