It is anticipated these positions will commence July 2019 and end approximately September 3, 2019. A Lifeguard follows applicable safety procedures to ensure the protection of customers, staff and facilities, and performs tasks assigned relating to the operation and maintenance of the aquatic facility. The successful applicants will be responsible for maintaining order and discipline at the outdoor pool. They must be team players, possess and demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, organization and leadership skills. Educational Requirements: Required qualifications: ??? must be at least 16 years of age; ??? current National Lifeguard Service certification; ??? current CPR level ???C??? certification; ??? have knowledge of the operation and maintenance of an outdoor pool and related equipment. The preferred candidates will also possess the following additional certifications: ??? Lifesaving Instructor certificate ??? Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification Salary: The starting wage rate for this time-duration Union position is $17.46 per hour plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits. Upon successful completion of the required probationary period the wage rate will increase to $19.40 per hour plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits. If instructing the wage rate will increase to the Swimming Instructor???s rate. Lifeguards must be available for shifts for up to 8 hours, anytime between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., inclusive of evenings, weekends and some holidays.
