||Located in the upper eastern Fraser Valley, the District of Kent offers a rural lifestyle with affordable housing options, urban amenities downtown and easy access to outdoor pursuits. Our community is conveniently situated 1.5 hours northeast of Vancouver and 8 km from the resort municipality of Harrison Hot Springs.
Working within the Corporate Services Department, the successful incumbent coordinates the District of Kent’s paper records management system including the creation of primary, secondary and tertiary file numbers; and provides specialized support to various Committees including agenda preparation, minute taking, providing advice on procedural matters and action follow-up.
||We are looking for someone who has demonstrated knowledge of local government functions, responsibilities, political structure and processes; ability to interpret the collective sense of meetings; experience taking formal minutes with a high degree of keyboarding skills; and the ability to manage changing priorities effectively and complete multiple activities within tight timelines while exercising tact, diplomacy, and excellent judgement as it relates to the work performed.
||The wage rate for this bargaining unit position is $26.11 per hour. Upon successful completion of the required probationary period the wage will increase to $30.72 per hour plus a comprehensive benefit package.
