The City of Abbotsford currently has an exciting full-time on temporary basis opportunity for a Utilities Environment Technologist I in the Engineering and Regional Utilities Department.
This is technical administrative environmental work performed within the City of Abbotsford???s Solid Waste and Environmental Services Division. You will carry out and assist staff with work related to Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) wastewater discharges. In this role you will perform ICI inspections for compliance with local bylaw requirements, prepare regulatory compliance reports, maintain data records and files, and assist staff with collection of ICI wastewater and biosolids samples.

Your technical experience along with your ability to prioritize, manage your time effectively and work with minimal supervision will make you an asset to the team.

In order to be considered for this position, you must have:
??? Diploma or Degree in biology/chemistry/soils or environmental science , or equivalent related education from a recognized educational institute;
??? 2 years related experience in environmental monitoring.
??? Eligibility for membership in the Association of Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of B.C. at the technologist level or membership;
??? Valid BC Drivers Licence

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $33.42 to $39.31 per hour plus an additional percentage in lieu of vacation and benefits.
