The City of Abbotsford is currently seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with proven skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment to join our Geomatics team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Geomatics this position collaborates with the City’s departments and Information Systems to understand key business objectives and technological capabilities with a goal of providing fully integrated business solutions utilizing multiple technology platforms.
The Business Solutions Analyst works closely with end users, management and information systems to leverage technology in the development of business solutions, focusing its efforts on the continuous improvement of business processes and the development of functional requirements and technology solutions that meet business objectives.
As the successful candidate you will have considerable knowledge in information technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). You will have experience utilizing multiple technology platforms, including determining technology requirements for business processes and user requests, analyzing and implementing solutions that will support and improve efficiency and develop or modify applications as required to suit business requirements along with maintaining related documentation and providing user support of applications.
An ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; along with good organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadline are essential to be successful in this role.
In order to be considered for this position you must have:
• Diploma in Business, Geography, or Computer Science combined with an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems;
• Three (3) years of direct experience, implementing and supporting business applications, conducting data analysis, business requirements gathering, and reporting, preferably in the public sector;
• GIS Certification.
This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $38.24 to $44.96 per hour plus we offer a comprehensive, competitive benefits package.
