We are the third largest regional district in BC and deliver over 100 services to six municipalities and eight electoral areas. Our region covers more than 13,000 km2 stretching from the City of Abbotsford to Boston Bar. We have an exciting opportunity to work at our Recreation Centre located in Hope, BC which features the Dan Sharrers Aquatic Centre, fitness and cardio rooms, an arena, and various multi-purpose rooms. | Duties: |
As a Facility Operator I at the FVRD you will perform facility, janitorial and light preventative maintenance duties. In this position, the successful candidate must be available for shifts anytime between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. inclusive of evenings and weekends and some holidays.

| Educational Requirements: |
??? Ability to obtain a Refrigeration Safety Awareness Certificate;
??? Building Service Worker Course at a recognized vocational institute a definite asset;
|
|
| Skill Requirements: |
??? Prefer one year experience in a maintenance/janitorial environment;
??? Excellent customer service skills and the ability to exhibit courtesy, tact and diplomacy, and remain professional in dealing with the public;
??? Ability to make decisions with considerable independence and judgement.

| Salary: |
The starting wage rate for this part-time Union position is $17.44 per hour plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits. Upon successful completion of the required probationary period the wage will increase to $19.38 per hour plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits. Shift differential and overtime are paid where applicable as per the Collective Agreement. |
