The City of Abbotsford’s Innovation, Strategy & Intergovernmental Relations Department is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with proven skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Marketing this position will work alongside our Communications and Marketing department.
As the Graphic Design and Digital Coordinator, you will partner with internal client departments to define their marketing and online objectives and develop online solutions, graphics, and communications campaigns. There is no typical day at the City however your main responsibilities will include creating graphic designs, online forms and custom web pages, and promotional material based on knowledge of layout principles and design concepts.
This role requires balancing more than one design and online request at a time using a wide range of media, software and online platforms to produce accurate and high-quality work while continuously contributing ideas and design artwork for communication needs.
As the successful candidate will you have the ability to work in multiple online platforms and design software and communicate effectively verbally and in writing; along with good organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadline are essential to be successful in this role.
Our ideal candidate will have:
• Completion of secondary school or its equivalent.
• Completion of a post-secondary certificate in Graphic Design or Digital Arts/Media.
• Minimum four years’ experience in a graphic design and marketing department, including creative and production components, working in website and digital services and direct client management.
• Demonstrated high proficiency in all Adobe Creative Suite applications, html and website CMS systems.
