The City of Abbotsford???s Engineering and Regional Utilities Department is seeking two (2) self-motivated, hard-working individuals to participate in a full-time skill development program designed to prepare them to become a Utility Person-Sewers.

A Utility Person-Sewers is responsible for establishing and carrying out repair, maintenance and construction duties in the sewers field and will be required to operate moderately large vehicles under varying traffic conditions.

The successful candidate entering the Utility Person-Sewers -Development Program will be required to complete the entire program to the final level; a maximum of 12 months.

During the course of the Utility Person-Sewers - Development Program, candidates will not be eligible to apply to other positions in the City of Abbotsford. They must complete the Utility Person-Sewers - Development Program, as well as 12 months in the end level (Utility Person-Sewers) position.

To be eligible to take advantage of this exciting opportunity, candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications:

??? Grade 12 or equivalent
??? Eligible for Environmental Operator???s Certification Program OIT Certification by having:
o Three (3) months experience (minimum 500 hours) at a Class 1 or higher facility/system
or
o Completion of 90 hours (9.0 CEUs) in an approved basic operator training course.
??? Ability to obtain Class 3 B.C. Driver???s Licence by completion of development program.

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $25.48-$29.99.
