Job Description: The Cultus Lake Park Board currently has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to join our team.

Under the direction of the Board, the CAO is responsible to lead a team of four enthusiastic senior staff, working across a variety of functions, to achieve the effective and efficient management and administration of the Parks’ operations, while observing the appropriate and established bylaws, statutes, policies and regulations.

The Board is looking for an individual who possesses municipal government experience and/or a background in executive leadership who can demonstrate strategic thinking, strong communications skills, management of multiple business units and excellent stakeholder management.

Above all, the ideal candidate will be a great leader and team member; someone who is a hardworking individual, is excited by the prospect of challenging work and is motivated by the reward of seeing the Cultus Lake community grow and thrive.

The Ideal Candidate would possess the following Competencies and Personal Characteristics:

Knowledge - A Post-Secondary Degree in Business/Public Administration or related discipline and working knowledge of the BC Local Government Act and BC Community Charter.

Leadership - Accomplishes organizational goals with a lead by example and hands on approach, while remaining positive and proactive. Treats colleagues with respect, resolves conflict respectfully and provides effective feedback.

Strategic – Ability to implement a plan and perform their job in support of the organizational strategic direction.

Proficient – Possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills. Proven experience coping well under pressure while managing multiple complex and challenging projects with conflicting priorities.

Integrity – Commitment to and respect for the rules and core values of the organization, setting an example of professionalism and ethical propriety.

Innovative – Encourage new ideas and innovations while questioning conventional approaches.

Influential – Exhibits strong relationship and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapports and deal effectively with elected officials, external stakeholders, the public and all levels of the organization.
