The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Manager, Financial Reporting to join our team of professionals in the Finance Division; Financial Services Department.

Reporting to the Deputy Director Finance you will be responsible in this exempt position for preparation of the Township’s Financial Statements and other related statutory and management reports, reporting on Tangible Capital Assets, monthly and quarterly variance reports; participating in the financial audits, financing programs, and ensuring that a system of internal controls for all Township financial functions is established. You will recommend the development, establishment, and maintenance of internal controls for the Township, recommending improvements in the Municipality’s standards, by-laws, policies and procedures. You will also review the General Ledger financial system; establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with other organizational units in the Municipality, along with effective communication, and coordination where required, with the public the relevant Provincial Ministries and Regional agencies.

Your education will include a post-secondary degree in Finance or a related discipline combined with a recognized accounting designation (CPA), with a minimum of 5 years post designated related work experience with progressively more responsible management and financial accountabilities. The successful candidate will have strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, in addition to excellent project management skill, and the ability to work in and foster a team environment. The work requires extensive computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing, data base management and visual presentations; and an excellent knowledge of on-line financial systems.
