Job Description: Are you eager to ensure that the children of this community have a variety of recreational programs to enhance their well-being? If so, this opportunity could be for you!
Duties: Our Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is seeking an energetic, organized individual to coordinate a variety of programming for children???s programs including primarily the Club Kids program. Under the general direction of the Program Coordinator, you will assist with the planning, delivery, coordination, marketing, budgeting and evaluating of children???s programs. You will also recruit, supervise, coordinate and schedule instructors for the programs.

We are looking for a self-directed individual who is able to effectively organize and prioritize their workload and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced recreation environment.
Educational Requirements: Along with a Certificate in Community Recreation with a focus on children???s services, or a related field such as Child and Youth Care or Social Work, supplemented by a supervisory course, the preferred candidate will have three years??? of experience working directly with children???s programs in a community recreation environment combined with experience in program planning, administration, supervision and training of staff. You will have also have knowledge of the Community Care and Assisted Living Act and Child Care Licensing Regulations.
Skill Requirements: Excellent customer-service and interpersonal skills are necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships and excellent communication skills to work with internal and external customers. You must have valid Standard First Aid certification, current CPR certification and a valid BC driver???s license.
Salary: The hourly rate for this full-time CUPE position is $33.09 plus a comprehensive benefit package upon successful completion of a probation period. The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on a 9-day fortnight schedule (extended hours for 9 days and 1 day off every two weeks).
