This opportunity is full-time on a temporary basis until return of incumbent, approximately 9 months. In this challenging role you will assist in the maintenance, interpretation and dissemination of GIS datasets and related information through the processing and input of GIS spatial and attribute data into a GIS database and other related data governance repositories. You will produce a variety of high quality datasets, digital files, maps, sketches, graphic displays and publication of analytical reports. Duties: As the successful candidate for this position, you will Considerable knowledge and demonstrated ability using GIS applications/software, development of specialized map and information products, and providing support to GIS users. Your strong attention to detail and demonstrated analytical, problem solving and technical skills will support you as you manage, maintain, update and prepare database records. An ability to communicate effectively; along with good organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment are essential to be successful in this position. Educational Requirements: To be considered for this position, you must have: ??? A Diploma in a related discipline. ??? An Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems. ??? One year of experience in GIS maintenance and spatial database development and customer support, including practical experience working with GIS technology. ??? A valid BC Driver???s Licence. Salary: This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $31.22 to $36.73 plus an additional 12% in lieu of all benefits including vacation and statutory holiday pay.
