This role is a vital member of the Information Technology management team and is responsible for utilizing the City???s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to help the organization improve the quality, accuracy, efficiency and responsiveness of City services and achieve Council???s vision for the City ??????to be the Hub of the Fraser Valley.??? Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Manager provides leadership, insight and strategic direction to the GIS team. The scope of your role includes providing expert knowledge and support, maintaining and advancing the City???s Esri ArcGIS Enterprise platform and managing the day-to-day operations of the team. You will be an integral leader in improving business enablement and a key contributor to developing a digital first, self-service culture for the organization and the public. You will make recommendations on strategic direction, processes and technology to continue the work that is currently underway to modernize the City???s GIS service delivery. You will also utilize a corporate approach that supports the responsiveness of City services by establishing and managing data and workflow governance programs that are optimized for data driven decision-making. Duties: You will be responsible for recruiting and training staff, assigning and managing projects and providing supervision and direction. You will also research emerging trends, manage the annual budget for all GIS services, contribute to the financial planning process, develop business cases and be responsible for product procurement. You have the ability to motivate, mentor, and coach a team of GIS professionals and provide leadership in a fast-paced and technological environment. You are a strategic thinker and problem solver that can managing multiple priorities. You are also dedicated to innovation and continuous improvement and have strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build credible and trusted relationships with your team, throughout the organization and the public Educational Requirements: In addition, the successful candidate will have: ??? A Bachelor???s Degree in Geomatics, Engineering, Geography, Computer Science or a related discipline, supplemented with an advanced diploma in GIS; and ???
