Job Overview
The Township of Langley is currently recruiting a regular full-time Senior Project Manager to join our team of professionals in the Facilities Division, Facilities Planning and Construction Department. Reporting to the Manager, Facilities Planning and Construction, this exempt position offers an opportunity to take on a wide range of responsibilities, overseeing the successful delivery of capital projects and facilities programs throughout the Township. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual who demonstrates exceptional leadership, innovation, and enthusiasm for the success of both our division and the community we serve.
Responsibilities
• Preparing proposals, evaluating engineering designs and tender submissions, reviewing drawings and specifications and managing financial tracking and reporting for projects.
• Establish and maintain a Project Development program that processes asset information feedback from the long-term integrated facilities asset management program (Facilities Capital Renewal Program and the ongoing Township of Langley’s Facilities operations maintenance annual feedback to create an inventory of the facilities capital projects scope of work, budget justification, and detailed cost estimates
• Interpret the Township’s policies, standards, and design criteria as they affect specific projects and review the design documents for conformance.
• Respond to public questions and complaints related to capital projects
• Establish safety programs, processes, and documentation as it relates to Facilities Capital Projects administration
Qualifications
Your education will include a degree in building-related engineering or architecture, Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or Registered Architect (MAIBC) or eligibility for immediate registration in BC. Additionally, you should have a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in building-related capital project management, including technical, supervisory, and project management duties. This experience should encompass large-scale building construction, government projects, renovations, and maintenance, with a focus on planning, design, and construction, as well as contract and project administration, including resolving contract disputes. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in large, complex, and/or unionized environments. Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) RCMP Clearance is required within one year of employment.
Required Certifications/Licenses
Candidates must have the following valid and current certifications/licenses (must be valid at the time the posting closes) and these must be attached with your application.
• BC Class 5 (full privilege) Driver’s License. You must include with your application a current Personal Driving Record (select the 5-year option if obtaining online) that has been obtained within 6 months of the closing date. To obtain a copy of your Personal Driving Record, please contact ICBC directly or the driving authority where you reside. Please note that a copy of your Driver’s License and the Driver Factor Report will not be accepted.
• Registration with the relevant professional association in British Columbia as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• University degree in engineering or master’s degree in architecture
