As an integral part of the Human Resources Team, the HR Coordinator serves as first point of contact for day-to-day HR inquiries, helping to resolve and/or route them to the appropriate team member as needed. The HR Coordinator will play a key role in the coordination and execution of AbbyPD’s suite of HR programs and services.

Key areas of responsibility:
• Assists with Health, Wellness, & Safety and Disability Management activities and initiatives.
• Coordinates and administers pension and benefits enrollment and administration.
• Coordinates and administers onboarding and offboarding activities.
• Coordinates internal and external recruitment processes, including job postings, interviews and various assessments as required within a policing environment.
• Serves as primary point of contact for, and is accountable for operational flow of, AbbyPD’s HRIS and HR specific software systems.
• Contributes to special projects including wellness and organizational development initiatives.
• Provides guidance, within scope, on employee and labour relations, policy, procedural and legislative compliance.
• Coordinates AbbyPD’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility Plan and supporting activities.

Candidates must have a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in HR, or relevant discipline, supplemented by a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in HR coordination or HR administrative support. Commensurate level education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will be a highly resourceful team player who is equally effective independently, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. They are flexible, well organized with a service-oriented mindset. Working knowledge of HR best practices, current labour and employment laws in BC and the ability to interpret collective agreements is required. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe programs, and strong attention to detail is essential. CPHR designation is an asset.
