Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Manager, Engineering Services to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division. Reporting to the Director, Engineering, in this exempt position you will manage a wide range of engineering services across the division and other corporate divisions. This position leads the department, overseeing all functions from engineering design to construction, including leadership, consultant selection, program and project management, budgeting, and community consultation.
Responsibilities
• Manage and deliver large capital projects of municipal infrastructure
• Provide survey services including topographic, construction and layout surveys
• Provide drafting services for capital projects and other departments
• Provide long-term planning and modelling for the municipal utility network
• Review and prepare applications and projects for environmental impacts
• Manage private utility and road extension projects
• Manage Langley Regional Airport infrastructure projects
Qualifications
Your education will include a post-secondary degree in civil engineering or equivalent, plus a minimum of 7 years’ experience in civil engineering with progressively more technical responsibilities and supervisory duties and at least 3 years work experience in the municipal sector.
Required Certifications/Licenses
Candidates must have the following valid and current certifications/licenses (must be valid at the time the posting closes) and these must be attached with your application.
• BC Class 5 (full privilege) Driver’s License. You must include with your application a current Personal Driving Record (select the 5-year option if obtaining online) that has been obtained within 6 months of the closing date. To obtain a copy of your Personal Driving Record, please contact ICBC directly or the driving authority where you reside. Please note that a copy of your Driver’s License or Driver Factor Report will not be accepted.
• Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of British Columbia or an equivalent combination of training and experience (i.e. Eng. L)
