Job Overview
The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Network Security Analyst to join our team of professionals in the Information Technology Division. Reporting to the Manager, IT Security, in this unionized position you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing corporate network infrastructure systems. You will develop and design security architecture and governance and make recommendations for remediation and mitigation related to cyber security risks.

Responsibilities
• Coordinate incident response efforts, including root cause analysis, containment, eradication and recovery
• Monitor, identify and respond to cybersecurity threats in real time and participate in investigations
• Conduct ongoing compliance assessments and maintain firewall rules
• Contribute to the development, review and enforcement of security standards and protocols
• Design and execute annual cybersecurity awareness campaigns, including the development and delivery of presentations, supporting materials, and online training modules
• Perform and administer vulnerability scanning for all network and internet-connected systems
• Provide assistance and training to staff on technical matter and oversee the work of others as required


Qualifications
• Graduation from an institute of technology with a diploma in Computer Science or Information Systems and Network Security, plus considerable related experience, including network security management in a senior capacity or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Thorough knowledge of cyber security practices and techniques including anti-malware, IDS/IPS, and secure firewall design, configuration and maintenance.
• Thorough knowledge of email, web, cloud security, identity and access management
• Considerable knowledge of public key infrastructure, encryption and tokenization
• Considerable knowledge of vulnerability scanning and penetration testing
• Considerable knowledge of security threat, risk assessment and threat modeling
• Considerable knowledge of risk mitigation plans including DoS
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts and to provide advice, information and assistance to same
• Ability to develop presentations and training material and present and train others
• Familiarity with standards such as CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS and GDPR are desired
Security Clearance for work at RCMP Buildings is required. (Note - Not required as part of the application process, however, will be required upon consideration for employment)

Required Certifications/Licenses
Candidates must have the following valid and current certifications/licenses (must be valid at the time the posting closes) and these must be attached with your application.
• BC Class 5 (full privilege) Driver’s License. • Certificate in Information Systems Security such as ISC2 - Certified in Cyber Security, CompTIA Security+, ISACA – Cybersecurity Fundamentals
