Job Description: The City of Abbotsford’s Legislative Services department is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable professional to join our team as a Freedom of Information Administrator. This exciting opportunity plays a key role in supporting the administration of the City’s Privacy Policy and Records Bylaw, and in ensuring compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
Duties: In this dynamic role, you will coordinate all processes related to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, conduct thorough assessments and searches of City records, and prepare responses in accordance with FIPPA. You will also liaise with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC), assist in staff education and training, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to privacy, access to information, and records management.
Educational Requirements: As the successful candidate you will have:

•A certificate in Public Administration, Business Administration, Library Science, Information Management, or a related discipline.
•Completion of the Certified Information and Privacy Professional – Canada designation, Canadian Institute of Access and Privacy Professionals designation, or an equivalent certification.
•A minimum of one year of experience in processing access to information requests, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary: This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $30.00 to $35.31.
