Job Overview
The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for up to ten auxiliary Arts and Cultural Instructors 1 – 4 (various disciplines including Indigenous Arts, Culture and Story, Multicultural Safety and Awareness, Nature-Based Learning, Arts and Crafts, Painting, Music, Theatre, Dance and Printmaking) to join our team of professionals in the Recreation, Arts and Culture Division, Arts and Culture Programs and Services Department. Reporting to the curatorial team, in this unionized position you will apply your knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise to demonstrate and instruct group classes for participants of all ages, abilities and interests.

Responsibilities:
Lead and provide guidance, direction and instruction to groups, participants and students
Ensure safe and proper procedures are followed

Qualifications:
• Experience will include a combination of education knowledge, skills and abilities in the specific disciplines related to our program offerings and some programs may require a diploma and/or degree in a specialty area
• Ability to organize, lead and participate in art, cultural and heritage programs and activities
• Ability to establish and maintain effective communication with participants, staff and volunteers

Dance, Music, School Programs, Theatre, and Art Instruction Grade 12 plus related experience $28.54 – $31.97 plus 13.5% in lieu of benefits
Arts and Cultural Instructor 2
Cultural and Heritage programs, Dance, Music, School Programs, Theatre, and Art Instruction Diploma or certification, plus 1 year experience $35.40 – $38.82 plus 13.5% in lieu of benefits
Arts and Cultural Instructor 3
Indigenous Programs, Dance, Music, Theatre, School Programs, and Art Instruction Degree and/or 5 years’ experience $46.81 - $50.24 plus 13.5% in lieu of benefits
Arts and Cultural Instructor 4
Indigenous Programs, Dance, Music, School Programs, Theatre, Art, Cultural, and Heritage Presenters Degree and/or 10 years’ experience $52.52 – $55.95 plus 13.5% in lieu of benefits

This position is defined by the Township of Langley as a Position of Trust (Child Safety). The successful candidate(s) will be required to have a Police Information Check as a condition of employment (not required as part of the application process, however, will be required upon consideration for employment).
