| Job Description: |
The City of Abbotsford’s Fleet Services division is currently seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic with a passion for customer service and teamwork to join our skilled team as a Trades II, Technician. This is a temporary full-time opportunity for up to 6 months. |
|
| Duties: |
In this challenging yet rewarding role, you will perform general mechanical overhaul and maintenance work on a wide variety of Automotive and Heavy Duty equipment such as road sweepers, backhoes, loaders, generators, trucks and diesel and gas engines. You will utilize your knowledge of electronic diagnostic equipment for computerized systems to undertake preventative maintenance and inspection and prepare reports of conditon and recommendations.
You will have solid knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems with a superior mechanical aptitiute as well as an appreciation for proper safety practices and proceedures. Your strong communication and organization skills along with your ability towork effectively in a fast-paced team environment will make you an asset to the team.

| Skill Requirements: |
As our ideal candidate you will have:
•Red Seal Trades Qualification in Automotive Service Technician
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the trade
•Class 3 BC Drivers Licence
•Commercial Vehcile Inspection Certificate

| Salary: |
This position is unionized, C.U.P.E Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $37.67 to $44.32. |
