| Duties: |
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified individual to fill an entry level Labourer position in our Operations department. This is a unionized (non-management) position that is time-durated to augment a vacant staff position. The hours of work for this position are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position will assist the department with the maintenance of parks, boulevards and cemeteries, or in the construction and maintenance of District roads, water, sanitary and storm drainage systems and facilities. |

| Skill Requirements: |
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Completion of grade 12 or equivalent;
• Knowledge of the practices, procedures, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the
maintenance of municipal infrastructure;
• Ability to deal with the public in a courteous, tactful and diplomatic manner;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
• The physical strength, stamina, and coordination required to effectively perform the work in all
weather conditions; and
• A valid driver’s licence.

| Salary: |
The wage rate for this union position is $34.63 per hour plus 18% in lieu of benefits and the probationary period is 65 days actually worked. |
