Job Description: The City of Abbotsford is looking for creative and caring individuals with a keen interest in recreation, the outdoors, and a passion for working with children. This is a seasonal position for the duration of our Summer Camps, up to 40 Hours a week dependent on program registration. The term of the position is 10 weeks, beginning June 23, 2026 and ending Aug 29, 2026.

The purpose of this position is to provide high quality summer camp opportunities for children in our community. In this role the Summer Camp Leader works with the Community Recreation Programmer & Summer Camp Supervisor to create a supportive, fun and inclusive camp experience for all participants.
Duties: Duties:

Oversee all aspects of camp activities
Hands on leader in camps, leading games, activities and crafts
Provide a safe & supportive environment for participants
Work with staff, parents, and caregivers to provide service excellence
Communicate with Community Recreation Programmer and Summer Camp supervisor on daily basis
Works together with the rest of the camp team in:
Planning of activities, themes, and out trips
Promotions and events
Planning & organizing of supplies, camp forms
Dealing with customer service complaints and suggestions
Skill Requirements: Qualifications:

Standard First Aid and CPR C with AED certification
BCRPA High5 Certification
Previous day camp or recreation experience an asset
Preference may be given to current post-secondary students
Salary: Salary: $21.34 - $25.11 per hour, plus the appropriate percentage in lieu of benefits.
Additional Information: The applicant/incumbent will be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector Screening in order to work in this position and must report to their manager if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
