The IT Support Technician is a full-time exempt position providing user support and customer service on agency- supported computer applications and platforms. The position is responsible for troubleshooting problems and advising on the appropriate action to support Departmental goals and objectives.
Duties: Key areas of responsibility:
• Provide 1st level helpdesk support by receiving, entering, assigning and prioritizing user requests in the helpdesk database.
• Investigate and resolve software and hardware problems with users in person, by telephone, by email and/or remote desktop control.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems, including but not limited to, desktop hardware and software, printers, mobile computing hardware including smartphones and a fleet of mobile computers in vehicles.
• Monitor hardware and software use to ensure compliance with policy, procedures and licensing requirements.
• Adapt to various duties and is flexible to work varied shifts as required.
Educational Requirements: The position requires candidates to possess a minimum two-year technical diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution, supplemented by at least one year of experience in PC hardware, software applications, and networking. Applicants should demonstrate recent experience working with Windows environments, Windows Server, and Microsoft Office.
Skill Requirements: The ideal candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills in order to be effective in requesting and delivering information. Strong organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills are essential, as is the ability to adapt to evolving priorities and adhere to established procedures. Candidates must also be resourceful team players who can work well independently and collaboratively.

This position is 35 hours/week with a competitive salary ($81,457 - $93,505 per year) and benefits package, including participation in a defined benefit pension plan. We also encourage and support career development.
